Journey to Oz Podcast – Ep14: Kamy and Duni from Sri Lanka

Kamy and Duni are both originally from Sri Lanka and met almost 4 years ago. We discuss how they met, how they explained their relationship to their families, the prospestive marriage visa application process and what it’s like for Kamy to be a transgender person in a country where being transgender is not commonly accepted. We also deliver them some very exciting news which they were happy to include in this episode of the podcast.

We also speak to Bronte Price who is is gay marriage celebrant and an advocate for LGBTIQ+ rights as part of his work as an educator with the Equality Network. We discuss his LGBTIQ+ inclusion training, what it’s like for LGBTIQ+ couple to live in countries where they are mostly not accepted, as well as the process of getting married in Australia, LGBTIQ+ rights and how this is gradually changing in Australia.
